While practicing law in Washington, D.C., I lost my paternal grandfather—a steady and deeply meaningful presence in my life. His passing sparked a period of soul-searching and led me to ask the kind of question many avoid: Am I truly living my best life? That question guided me to chocolate.

I immersed myself in the world of cacao—training in southeastern France, staying in the jungles of southern Belize, and learning how cacao is grown, harvested, and transformed into chocolate. In 2013, I founded Zivaara to explore chocolate’s power to enhance our lives—through pairings, confections, recipes, skincare, and meaningful experiences. The name “Zivaara,” drawn from ancient South Asian languages, means “best life.”

Inspired by Zivaara and my own journey, I've written my first novel. It blends the worlds I know best—law, chocolate, and the quiet strength of reinvention.
